Cebu Province is an island south of Manila in the Philippines. It's capital, Cebu City, is known as the Queen City of the South, and for good reason.
Most of the weather year-round is balmy, the very reason why Cebu's beaches are some of the most sought-after locally and internationally. In fact, the world-famous Mactan Shangri-la resort finds its nook here.

The people are friendly and warm, albeit a bit shy. You can easily strike up a conversation with them or, if you're sports-minded, join an on-going game of basketball.

The crime rate is one of the lowest in the country. Anyone can still walk in the streets at 3 o'clock in the morning without fear of getting mugged. It is said that, because Cebu is an island, there are few places to hide. Thus, a felony is difficult to commit without being discovered quickly.

The entertainment and food are world-class, and one can find lodgings at any price -- from 5-star hotels to the travel-budget inns -- having the same comfort.
